Ontario Nurses’ Association Celebrates Nursing Week

12 May 08 -- The President of the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) will join our front-line nurses in celebrating Nursing Week as she crosses the province to attend events.

Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, will attend 16 Nursing Week 2008 events in cities across the province. Also visiting ONA members will be Vice-President Vicki McKenna, RN and other board members.

“Nursing Week is such a great opportunity to celebrate our members' critical contributions to the health-care system,” says Haslam-Stroud. “Despite all the challenges our members face, they remain passionate about providing quality patient care, and deserve our thanks and our admiration. From May 12 to 18, nurses will be in the spotlight and we should all take the time to thank them for the work they do.”

Nursing Week activities for ONA members range from special luncheons and dinners to guest speakers and presentations.

ONA is celebrating 35 years of nursing advocacy – a proud past, a powerful future.
