Registered Nurses at Extendicare Northridge Long-Term Care Vote Unanimously to Join ONA

OAKVILLE, ON., November 21, 2023 – Registered nurses (RNs) working to provide high-quality care to residents of Extendicare Northridge Long-Term Care have voted unanimously to join the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA).

“The incredibly skilled and dedicated RNs who do their very best for the vulnerable residents they care for are concerned about changes being made by Extendicare since it assumed operations from Revera,” says ONA President Erin Ariss, RN.

“These nurses have taken action and have voted for the benefits that come with being part of Canada’s largest nurses’ union. We are thrilled to represent them, and look forward to working alongside them to achieve the respect they so deserve.”

ONA is the union representing 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
