Our interactive Ask a Specialist sessions give ONA members and leaders the opportunity to learn directly from staff specialists on a range of topics.
Our updated Ask a Specialist program launched in October 2023.
Sessions run virtually via Zoom, every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon ET. The first and third Tuesday of each month focus on Professional Practice issues, the second Tuesday focuses on Health & Safety, and the fourth Tuesday focuses on WSIB. If there is a fifth Tuesday in a month, specialists will be assigned as needed.
What topics are covered?
Generally each session topics are unique and are determined by the specialists based on issues that are trending in their fields. Past session topics can be viewed in the ONA Workshop and Events Calendar.
A few stopics have been offered more than once, including:
- Health & Safety: Understanding IPAC for Acute Respiratory Viruses.
- Professional Practice: Changes in CNO Practice Standards and Guidelines.
Topics for upcoming sessions are posted in the ONA Workshops and Events Calendar as soon as they’re available.

I missed my session. Can I access a recording?
These sessions offer an interactive learning experience for participants, giving them the opportunity to ask their questions directly to subject matter experts. Given the nature of these sessions, there are no eMaterials and they are not recorded.
Attendees will have the opportunity to complete a short survey at the end of the session.
