Be vigilant and check for accuracy!

It is an unfortunate reality that ransomware attacks (malicious software used to gain access to emails and IT structures to steal or damage files) have become increasingly frequent in Ontario. Look no further than what happened in southwestern Ontario last year.
To help prevent such attacks, we encourage everyone to please be vigilant with your email and IT space. Be suspicious and cautious of emails that you don’t recognize. Before clicking, hover over the links to preview the URL. Avoid opening or downloading any attachments from unknown sources.
It is a best practice to keep copies of any important files or information, including pay stubs, pension statements, banking information or any other sensitive personal information. Please routinely check your paystubs for accuracy in the event you need to address any concerns with your employer in the future.
