March 12, 2025

TORONTO, ON, March 12, 2025 – Nurse Practitioners (NPs) with Unison Health and Community Services have voted unanimously in favour of joining the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA).

“I am delighted to welcome the 21 NPs from Unison Health and Community Services to ONA, the largest nurses’ union in Canada,” says ONA Provincial President Erin Ariss, RN. “ONA is strong and committed to representing its members, and we look forward to improving the wages and working conditions for these highly skilled and educated NP’s.

The NPs are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams providing primary care and allied health services at five Toronto locations.

ONA is the union representing more than 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
