We have an important update to share with ONA local leaders about the Workplace Safety Insurance Board of Ontario (WSIB).
Due to a strike by WSIB workers that started Thursday, May 22, the WSIB will be supporting only urgent issues such as fatalities, serious injuries, injured workers with accepted claims who are off work with no pay and those who require access to healthcare benefits.
For the duration of the strike, the WSIB will not be rendering decisions at operations or appeals. If a hearing was scheduled for a date during the strike, a letter will be sent out informing parties of the adjournment until normal services are resumed and a new date can be selected.
This strike may also affect access to claim files.
