Nurses at ONE Fertility Clinic Reach First Collective Agreement

February 3, 2026

BURLINGTON, ON, February 3, 2026 – After 19 days of bargaining, members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) at ONE Fertility Clinic have secured a first collective agreement with their employer. This new three-year agreement, retroactive to April 1, 2024, will include above industry standard wage increases and full retroactive pay since they started bargaining. Members also secured other benefits including increases to vacation and sick time, paid professional development and language to address harassment and bullying in the workplace.

“These nurses support patients at an important and intimate stage in their lives as they are trying to start a family. Their care and expertise are invaluable, and this contract recognizes the true worth of their work.” says ONA Provincial President Erin Ariss, RN.

The team of registered nurses and one registered practical nurse support thousands of patients in Burlington and surrounding areas with in-vitro fertilization (IVF), post-operative embryo transfers, cycle monitoring, fertility preservation and intrauterine insemination among other services. ONE Fertility Clinic is a private, for-profit clinic that received $1,480,693 in public funding for approximately 153 cycles, with demand for these services expected to rise.

“The working conditions of these nurses are the conditions of care for patients,” explains Ariss. “By joining ONA, these members have not only improved their wages and benefits, but they’ve also raised the standard for workers in similar clinics, and the quality-of-care patients can expect.”

ONA is the union representing 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as more than 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics, and industry.
