Help reverse the RN cuts at Brant Community Healthcare System.

Registered nurses are raising concerns about 21 registered nurse (RN) position cuts at Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS). Multiple departments will be impacted, including: the critical care unit (CCU), emergency department, medical cardiology, in-patient surgical, emergency department mental health and mental health in-patient and out-patient medication clinic (MC).  Despite already being understaffed, RNs are providing high-quality, complex patient care with fewer staff and less resources. This is unsustainable to provide the care our community needs.

Without enough RNs:

  • Patient wait times will increase.
  • Patients will be at risk of missed assessments, less care and communication, and more errors.
  • Nurses and health-care professionals will experience moral distressing forcing them to leave their jobs.

BCHS finished the 2025-26 fiscal year with a surplus. Instead of sacrificing patient safety to save money. BCHS must prioritize safe, high-quality patient care.

Send an email to the BCHS Chief Executive Officer, Bonnie Camm, Chief Nursing Executive, Stuart Paavola and the BCHS board of directors to demand that they reverse the RN position cuts and maintain RN-levels of care in the CCU and MC.
