TORONTO, ON, June 17, 2024 – Registered nurses (RNs) with Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home have voted overwhelmingly in favour of joining the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA).
“I am pleased to welcome the RNs from Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home to our union,” said ONA President Erin Ariss, RN. “These nurses provide incredible care and compassion to their residents and ONA membership will provide them with excellent representation.”
The RNs are seeking better transparency and wanting a voice at the table, as well as wage equity and improving working conditions, so that they can focus on providing high-quality care.
“ONA prides itself in supporting our members as they find their collective power in union membership,” she says.
ONA is the union representing 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as more than 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics, and industry.
