OTTAWA, ON., June 28, 2024 – The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is delighted to welcome registered nurses (RNs) from Centretown Community Health Centre to the union.
“I look forward to these incredible RNs joining us,” says ONA Provincial President Erin Ariss, RN. “Our union is strong and engaged and membership offers an incredible range of representation that will ensure our new members have a strong voice in their workplace.”
Centretown Community Health Centre RNs voted overwhelmingly to join ONA. They have a number of issues of concern with their employer, including low wages, recruitment and retention challenges, and a desire for transparency and clear processes in the workplace.
Ariss says that “ONA prides itself in supporting our members as they find their collective power in union membership.”
ONA is the union representing 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
