Ontario Nurses’ Association Elects New First Vice-President

TORONTO, ON, April 11, 2025 – Alan Warrington, RN, has been elected First Vice-President of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA).

Members of ONA have just finished holding a byelection for the position. The newly elected First Vice-President will begin his term on April 25. His term will end on December 31, 2027.

Alan Warrington is a hospital-sector registered nurse from ONA100 in London. He has been a member of the ONA Board of Directors since 2022 as the Regional Vice-President of Region 5.

Results of the election were announced today by Andrea Kay, RN, ONA’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Electoral Officer. Kay extends congratulations to Warrington and thanks all candidates for letting their names stand. Full results can be viewed on the ONA website.

A byelection for the position of Region 5 Vice-President on the ONA Board of Directors will be held in the coming weeks.

ONA is the union representing more than 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
