Record Profits, Persistent Pay Gap: ONA Enters Arbitration with For-Profit Nursing Homes Employers

TORONTO, ON, June 15, 2026 – The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) – the union representing more than 4,400 nursing homes nurses and health-care professionals – is entering into two days of arbitration hearings with for-profit employers today.

Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre Nurses Demand Fair Wages to Protect Primary Care

TORONTO, ON, May 25, 2026 – More than 30 registered nurses (RNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA), at Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre (PQWCHC) are calling on their employer to close the wage gap and offer fair wages as they head to conciliation seeking a new collective agreement. After years of wage freezes or minimal wage increases, the group of highly-skilled nurses are struggling to make ends meet, forcing them to look for jobs in other health-care sectors.

Nurses at Brant Community Healthcare System Concerned Over Cuts to Registered Nurse Positions

BRANTFORD, ON, May 19, 2026 – Hundreds of Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) members are voicing concerns about 22 registered nurse (RN) position cuts at Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS). This comes on the heels of province-wide nurse and health-care professional cuts due to government underfunding and employer understaffing. Nurses at ONE Fertility Clinic Reach First Collective Agreement

BURLINGTON, ON, February 3, 2026 – After 19 days of bargaining, members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) at ONE Fertility Clinic have secured a first collective agreement with their employer. This new three-year agreement, retroactive to April 1, 2024, will include above industry standard wage increases and full retroactive pay since they started bargaining. Members also secured other benefits including increases to vacation and sick time, paid professional development and language to address harassment and bullying in the workplace.
